Why to Monitor Kids’ Online Activities: Inarguable Importance of Cyber Monitoring

Tuesday, January 13, 2015 6:40
% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Kids’ Online ActivitiesAsking you whether or not your child accesses the Internet would be like asking somebody if he wears shoes, drinks water, goes movies and sleeps at night! The presence of Internet in our and our kids’ lives is so subtle and vital that we just can’t think a life without it.

But does your child uses the Internet the safe way? Are you really aware of what your child does online? Who are his friends? What things he accesses online? Yes, you NEED TO know it ALL!! It is really important.  If you think it isn’t very important; check out local dailies, the news channels, or talk to people around you and you’ll get to see the really horrendous face of the cyber world.

Know how the Cyber World is turning into a Cataclysmic Space for Kids:

Zillions of Social Networking Sites surrounds your kid

So, you think your child only uses the popular social networking sites like Tumblr, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter and the likes? If you think so, you are absolutely wrong.  Your child knows that you’re stalking him on the popular social places, thus, he now uses the less popular alternatives. He’s present on newer social platforms and everyday there are hundreds of newer ones coming up.

Wondering what’s the risk?

There’s tremendous risk on these social platforms as hundreds of dangerous people use them. Cyber world is no less than a jungle with dangerous wild animals waiting to prey on your child from behind every next bush around. Neither anybody knows, nor does anybody have the power to distinct between an innocent and helping stranger online and a truly malefic criminal all set to victimize a child online.

Scam sellers are always around the corner

Scam sellers know how to trick people and their best bet is always a kid as kids can easily be targeted. If you aren’t checking, your child may give away your credit card details for buying something really stupid and sad part would be that the scammer selling the stuff would then get hold of your confidential information and misuse it in whatever way he wants.

Unwholesome material available online

Of course, the biggest of the risks that your child has online is the predators and criminals deliberately harming your child but the unwholesome material available online is equally damaging for a kid.

So, what are these materials by the way?

The pornographic pictures, videos, games; violent gaming apps and sites; information about drug and drug sellers; contact to weapon providers;  and so much more that knowing them will make you faint!

Well, the Good News is that you can keep your child safe from all these!

By taking just a simple step and deciding to monitor your child’s cyber usage, you’ll be able to keep your child safe. And this is a simplest possible thing to do! When the cyber world is what is troubling you, let the cyber world itself be something helping you out too!

In dealing with technology, you’ll just have to take help of technology, install monitoring software on your child’s device: whether it is a home computer; a laptop; a tablet; or a smart phone or feature phone with limited access to Internet. Don’t miss out any of the devices that your child uses. Once you have installed the software on the device, you’ll be able to track all the activities taking place on it.

Starting from the Internet usage and ending up with other usages like calling, chatting, or the camera usage and access to the files and folders that your child has saved up on the device, you’ll get to keep an eye on everything.
