“It’s been a really beautiful experience just to watch the Shen Yun performance. It’s the first time I’ve seen it—’s been really beautiful to see the show and the style of dance.”

“I think it’s been really great to see some of the stories that have come out of it, including the persecution [of Falun Gong] in 1999. I was very touched by that scene and it’s very heartbreaking to think of what’s going on.

“Art … has always been a really powerful medium for me to get issues about social justice and human rights out to a broader community and I think Shen Yun is a prime example of that.”

“I mean I think Truth, Compassion, Forbearance, they’re universal values that apply to every person, regardless of your religion, regardless of your race, regardless of your ethnicity, regardless of your political beliefs, and they’re really messages of universal principles, and it’s really important that everyone has those rights to believe in what they want to believe—that’s really important for everyone to have.”

“I really love the interaction with the backdrop and how the dancers come out of it and kind of go back in again. It … creates a really amazing depth to the whole performance—so that’s been really lovely to see.”

“The atmosphere has been really great—with lots of different diverse people all watching the one, great performance.”

“I would totally recommend it. Definitely come down and see it.”
